Lu You extensively uses“self proclaimed”in his poetry to express his views and emotions, among which the use of the third person is complex, and the author examines himself from an observer’s perspective.Scholars, poets, and others claim to embody the pain and powerlessness of dreams that cannot be realized.“Husband”represents Lu You’s ideal self and reflects his ambition to fight on the battlefield. The name“Fangweng”comes from the charge of“decadent drinking of Yan”,which includes Lu You’s self deprecation and generosity. The term“old man”reflects the poet’s helplessness towards aging and the decadence of dreams that cannot be realized. The use of self proclaimed identity reflects the author’s complex self identity recognition.
