自由是人的本性,也是人类最为美好的理想之一。人人都向往自由,旅游是人身自由的最佳实现方式之一。中外哲学思想中的自由观揭示出自由总是和束缚相对,表现为对于束缚的超越。按照所超越的束缚的不同,自由可以分为内在的精神自由和外在的行动自由。旅游的词源学分析得出旅游中暗含着“旅”和“游”两条线索,随着时代的发展,“旅”的艰辛感不断减少,“游”的目的性不断增强,旅游的自由本质日益凸显。旅游的本质是自由,旅游、旅游体验、旅游审美与自由、自由感密不可分。旅游体验的个体性凸显出人存在的唯一性和自由感,旅游的多目的性有利于完善和提升旅游者的人生领悟,旅游的进化与社会自由的变迁和人的幸福感相互成就。非谋生性的旅游合乎谋求更好生存的人性,体现了人的自由境界。旅游作为一种合乎人性的生存方式,在人类发展史中已经成了人类社会整体和个体自由的重要尺度之一。
