中西译者行为研究异同对比分析——以威尔斯和周领顺为例

A Comparative Study of Translator Behavior Studies in the East and West:With Special Reference to Wolfram Wilss’and Zhou Lingshun’s Models

译者行为研究是近年来翻译研究领域的热点之一,受到中西翻译学界的广泛关注。其中,德国学者威尔斯于1996年出版Knowledge and Skills in Translator Behavior一书,对翻译的性质和翻译过程中的译者行为展开探索。中国学者周领顺创造性地提出了“译者行为批评”理论,以“译者行为”为切入点,从文本视阈到社会视域对译者行为和译文质量进行双边描写和评价。本文首先对威尔斯的译者行为研究和周领顺的译者行为批评理论进行对比分析,发现两者在研究范式、译者角色和研究路径上具有相通之处,但在研究对象、研究目的、体系建构以及应用领域上则呈现出较大差异,接着阐释了两者对译者行为研究的启示意义,展望该领域的未来发展方向。

In recent years,the studies of translator behavior have been one of the hottest issues and attracted extensive attention in the field of translation studies in the East and West.Among them,German scholar Wolfram Wilss published Knowledge and Skills in Translator Behavior in 1996,which explores the nature of translation and translator behavior in the process of translation.Chinese scholar Zhou Lingshun creatively puts forward the theory of Translator Behavior Criticism,which takes translator behavior as the starting point and aims to realize the bilateral description and evaluation of both translator behavior and translation quality from the textual perspective to the social vision.This paper first makes a comparative analysis of Wilss’research on translator behavior and Zhou Lingshun’s theory of Translator Behavior Criticism,and finds that there are similarities in the research paradigm,translator’s role and research path.However,there are great differences in the research object,research goal,system construction and the field of application.Then,this paper explains how they shed light on translator behavior studies,and identify the potential research direction in this field.
