La Chatte(The Cat),a classic work by French national-treasured authoress Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette,tells a delicate love triangle about a cat and a newlywed couple.Different from the traditional narrative,the novel mainly uses the“noise”of modern life to develop the narrative.Rooted in the fashionable cultural context of 1930s France,this auditory narrative breaks through the limitations of a single visual narrative.It not only reflects the innovation of the times and the impact of modern material civilization on human beings,but also profoundly reveals the contradiction between the old and new bourgeoisie through the protagonist’s absurd choice of the female cat rather than his wife,dialectically ushering in grand theme of material conflict and spiritual dependence.
