摘要
戏剧因传统上被定义为“非叙事”体裁而长期未被纳入经典叙事理论体系,直到跨媒介叙事研究逐步推进,西方学者才开始建构戏剧叙事理论。然而,虽然就理论层面而言,这一尝试让叙事理论的基本素材库得到补充、理论术语定义得到完善,但从实践层面来看,戏剧叙事学理论在脱离语境的文本结构细读分析上不及经典叙事学研究细腻,在结合社会历史语境的作品分析上又不及其他理论指导下的戏剧研究深入。从其现有成果看,戏剧叙事理论建构并未实现更深刻、全面的戏剧阐释。
Drama,traditionally defined as a mimetic rather than diegetic genre,was once excluded from narrative theories.It is with later developments in transmedial narratology that scholars have been encouraged to formulate a narratology of drama.This paper,however,argues that although a narratology of drama may help narrative theory to extend its corpus and refine its terms,in terms of application in dramatic criticism,it is not as meticulous as classical narratology in structural readings of the texts,nor as indepth as other,more historically informed theories in contextual readings.A narratology of drama,as it is currently practiced,does not seem able to offer a more comprehensive and rigorous approach to understanding drama and dramatic composition.
