In the Sino-Vietnamese dispute about South China Sea,Vietnam showed a lot of historical materials to justify the claim.Though the features names that appeared in those ancient books and maps showed quite a lot of contradictions and paradoxes,Vietnam tried to combine those names together by a special historical narrative.However,the nodes of the name system are lack of sufficient evidence and logical inference.Examining most of those geographic names in those historical materials,it is not difficult to show the outline of the historical narrative and the logical problem inside.
