数字视译眼动追踪:兴趣区与绩效

Digital visual interpreting based on an eye tracking experiment:Areas of interest and performances

摘要 本研究以体认口译学为研究理据,以所教授的2021—2022第一学期选修英语口译的90名(有效被试84名)本科生学生译员为研究对象,以多模态嵌入式眼动跟踪靶域(TD)兴趣区记录为研究方法,探究眼动跟踪兴趣区与英汉双向数字视译绩效的相关度以提高学生译员数字视译绩效。通过Eye Link 1000眼动实验对眼动跟踪TD占位兴趣区实验数据解析、E-Prime和SPSS统计计算以及TD占位兴趣区与绩效检验,得出以下结论:1)被试TD占位兴趣区所呈现颜色深度与被试平均注视时长成正比;2)兴趣区红色或橘红色的深度与平均绩效成反比;3)成绩较好的被试TD占位兴趣区相对分散,TD占位兴趣区呈浅红色或浅橘红色;4)成绩较差的被试TD占位兴趣区相对集中,TD占位兴趣区呈深红色或深橘红色。进而析出,数字视译语码转换、双语技能转换、认知心理等因素是影响学生译员英汉双向数字视译绩效的主要因素。鉴于此,采取相应的数字视译语码转换策略、熟练双语技能转换策略、认知灵动与情绪抑制策略等来增强学生译员英汉双向数字视译绩效。该研究对数字视译增效具有一定的参考价值。 Based upon the theory of Embodied-Cognitive Interpreting Studies,this study takes 90 undergraduate student interpreters(84 valid participants)who took the English interpreting course in the first semester of 2021-2022 as research subjects,using a method known as interest area recording of multimodal embedded eye tracking target domain(TD),to explore the correlation between eye tracking interest areas and the performance of English-Chinese(E-C)bidirectional digital sight interpreting.The study aims to improve student interpreters'performance in digital sight interpreting.Through an eye tracking experiment with the EyeLink 1000,data analysis,E-Prime and SPSS statistical calculations,as well as performance testing for tracking TD occupied areas of interest,the following conclusions are drawn:1)The color depth presented in the TD occupied interest areas of the subjects is directly proportional to their average fixation time;2)The depth of red or tangerine in the interest areas is inversely proportional to the average performance;3)TD occupied interest areas of subjects with better scores are relatively scattered,and TD occupied areas of interest appear light red or light tangerine;and 4)TD occupied interest areas of subjects with poor scores are relatively concentrated and the colors of them are dark red or dark tangerine.Furthermore,factors such as code switching,bilingual skill switching,and cognitive psychology in digital sight interpreting are those that affect student interpreters'performance in bilingual digital sight interpreting.In view of this,the strategies of code switching,proficient bilingual skill switching,cognitive agility and emotional suppression are adopted to enhance student interpreters'performance in E-C bidirectional digital sight interpreting.This study provides certain reference value for enhancing efficiency of digital sight interpreting.
