Hunan First Normal University played an important role in the history of Chinese teacher education.Its predecessor,Chengnan Academy,together with Yuelu Academy,was an important hub of the Hunan School.With a thousand years of cultural heritage and continuous efforts of generations,it has formed a cultural tradition of preaching and serving the people and pursuing the practicability,a revolutionary tradition of embracing the world and daring to be the first,and an educational tradition of seeking truth from facts and cultivating morality.It has become a well-known university for its culture and tradition both domestically and internationally.Taking General Secretary Xi Jinping’s inspection of Hunan First Normal University as a new starting point and aiming to be a normal university with distinctive features,the University has ushered in a bright prospect of development in the new era.
