摘要
北洋政府时期,面对民族危机严重、文教落后的困境,南高-东大学人秉持“教育救国”的理念,通过深入细致的国际观察,认识到西方名校拥有高水平的师资队伍、制度化的科学研究及活跃的国际交流;相比之下,我国高校教师队伍水平与欧美国家差距甚大,有国际影响力的科研成果匮乏,国际参与程度不高。基于对国情和国际大势的研判,南高-东大在国际化教师队伍建设、科学研究和国际交流合作等方面进行了卓有成效的改革,推动了中国教育制度和模式的变革,重塑了中国高等教育格局,培育了良好的自主研究风气,为近代中国的教育发展做出了重要的人才贡献和知识贡献,也为当今高校开展国际交流合作、推进国际化改革提供了历史镜鉴。
Scholars of Nanjing Higher Teachers’College-National Southeastern University adhered to the concept of education to save the country and carried out a series of bold reforms and explorations in the context of serious national crisis,and academic,cultural and educational backwardness during the period of the Beiyang Government.Through in-depth and detailed international observation,the scholars realized that Western universities had high-level faculty,institutionalized scientific research,and active international exchanges,thus widening the gap between European higher learning institutions and Chinese universities that faced multiple challenges due to low level of internationalization,lack of globally influential scientific achievements,and insufficient international participation.Nanjing Higher Teachers’College-National Southeastern University thus implemented fruitful innovations in the construction of an international faculty team,institutionalized scientific research,and international exchanges and cooperation.These innovations promoted the reform of China’s education system and paradigm,reshaped the structure of China’s higher education and cultivated a favorable atmosphere of independent research,therefore making important talent and knowledge contributions to the development of modern China’s education,and also providing historical reflections on internationalization of today’s universities through international exchanges and cooperation.
