朝阳胡同名称演变

Name Changes of Chaoyang Hutong

在现今朝阳街南首路东,有一条东西走向的胡同,这就是新中国成立后并入朝阳街的朝阳胡同。说起胡同的名称,1999年11月烟台市地方史志办公室编写的《老烟台街巷》记载,“因位于朝阳街侧,故名朝阳胡同”。至于朝阳胡同名称的演变过程,书中却没有提及。其实,这条胡同在冠名“朝阳”之前还另有名称,其来历也十分有趣。

On the east of the southern end of Chaoyang Street,there is an east-west alley known as Chaoyang Hutong,which was incorporated into Chaoyang Street after the founding of the People's Republic of China.According to Streets and Alleys of Ancient Yantai,compiled by Yantai Local Chronicles Office in November 1999,this alley got its name because it is located beside Chaoyang Street.However,the book does not mention the evolution of its names.In fact,before being named"Chaoyang Hutong",it had another name,which has an interesting origin.
