清代佑宁寺松巴益西班觉五台山朝圣考述

An Investigation into Sumpa Yeshe Paljor of Youning Monastery's Pilgrimages to Mount Wutai during the Qing Dynasty

松巴益西班觉分别于1750年、1767年、1775年三次朝圣五台山,不论是在五台山的朝圣转山、布施供养、学法静修、讲经说法,抑或是在往返途中的传法灌顶、开光授戒、交游社交、降雨治病,三次五台山之旅早已从内容、范围、意义和影响等方面超出“五台山”和“朝圣”本身,成为松巴堪布通过朝圣之路强化师徒关系、促进佑宁寺复兴、拓宽社交网络、冲破地方势力和家族政治、提高个人及松巴活佛系统影响地位的重要资本。

Sumpa Yeshe Paljor undertook three pilgrimages to Mount Wutai in 1750,1767,and 1775.These journeys,comprising acts of circumambulation,offerings,meditation,Dharma teachings,along with empowerment rituals,consecrations,diplomatic interactions,and even invoking rain for healing during his travels to and from the site,transcended the conventional notions of a"Mount Wutai pilgrimage."Their breadth,depth,and repercussions in terms of content,scope,meaning,and influence far exceeded the pilgrimage itself.These excursions played a pivotal role in Sumpa Khenpo's efforts to strengthen teacher-disciple bonds,revitalize Youning Monastery,establish new networks,transcend local power dynamics and family politics,and enhance both his individual prestige and that of the Sumpa Tulku system.
