Objective To explore the clinical features of auditory brainstem response in children with autism spectrum disorder(ASD).Methods 39 children with ASD in our hospital were retrospectively selected as the study objects as the ASD group, and 39 healthy children in the same period were selected as the control group. All of them were examined by auditory brainstem response(ABR)and the ABR results of the two groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in gender between the two groups(P>0.05).The latency of left ear ABR waveⅠ,ⅢandⅤand the interval ofⅠ~Ⅲwave in ASD group were longer than those in control group(P<0.05),and the interval ofⅢ~Ⅴwave andⅠ~Ⅴwave in ASD group were shorter than that in control group(P<0.05).The latency of ABR waveⅠandⅢin the right ear in ASD group were longer than that in the control group(P<0.05),the interval ofⅢ~Ⅴwave andⅠ~Ⅴwave were shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the interval ofⅠ~Ⅲwave was longer than that in the control group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the latency of V wave between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The study shows that the ABR latency and wave interval are different between children with ASD and healthy children, which indicates that children with ASD have auditory pathological dysfunction, which has certain clinical significance for the diagnosis of language impairment in children with ASD.
