“坐忘”是庄学研究中的重要问题之一,由“坐忘”引起的工夫论意涵历来为注家所重视,然而“坐忘”之义却众说纷纭,不一而足。其中,“端坐而忘”和“无故而忘”为大多数研究者所持,但对细节的解释仍较模糊。通过对文本结构进行分析性研究,可以得出“坐忘”的真正含义,即“止而忘”、无具体对象的忘、自我同一性合于道的忘,是“我”之一从社会的“一”中超脱出来,解除限制之后再次返回天的秩序和社会秩序中去的过程,此过程首先终止对象性的活动达到无对象性的状态,进而使“我”之一显现。

"Sitting in Forgetfulness" is one of the most important issues in the study of Zhuang Studies, and the implications of the work theory caused by "sitting in forgetfulness" have always been valued by the commentators, but the meaning of "sitting in forgetfulness" is subject to a wide range of opinions and variations. However, the meaning of "sitting and forgetting" is subject to many different interpretations. Among them, "sitting in forgetfulness" and "forgetting for no reason" are held by most researchers, but the interpretation of the details is still vague. By analyzing the structure of the text,the real meaning of "sitting in forgetfulness" can be derived, i.e., "stopping and forgetting", forgetting without any specific object, forgetting when the identity of the self is in line with the Way, and forgetting when "I" is one of the most important things from the society, and "I" is one of the most important things from the society. It is the process by which one of the "I" transcends from the "one" of society and returns to the order of heaven and the order of society after being released from its limitations. This process firstly terminates object-oriented activities and reaches the state of objectlessness before revealing one's true self.
