Potato is the third largest food crop in the world,and it′s also the staple crop of more than 1.3 billion people from over 120 countries.Protein content of potato tuber is an important nutrient quality trait.Accurate,rapid,and high-throughput determination and analysis of protein content in potato tuber is of great significance for understanding the characteristics of potato tuber protein and accelerating the breeding process of high-protein potatoes.This article introduces and compares the principle,sample pretreatment methods,strengths and weaknesses,and scope of application of different determination methods of protein content in potato tuber.The application status of these determination methods in potato tuber are summarized.The prospects of these determination methods are also discussed.It is anticipated that this article would serve as a reference for the reasonable selection of the determination methods of protein content in potato tuber.
