Western ecological politics is the result of political and social changes and academic discourse shaping in a specific Western context.Marxist ecological politics,which transcends the ideological shield of western ecological politics on ecological political phenomena,is a scientific knowledge system with distinct ideological attributes.Xi Jinping Thought on Eco-Civilization,based on the practical experience of China’s ecological civilization construction,has put forward many new ideas,viewpoints,and judgments,greatly enriching and developing Marxist ecological politics with a series of original achievements,showing confi-dence and self-awareness in building China’s independent ecological politics.Its original contribution is reflected in the following aspects:construction of ecological civilization under socialist principles,profound revelation of the essential provisions of ecological politics,overall leadership of the CPC on the construction of ecological civilization,fundamental guarantee of ecological politics,relying on the people to promote eco-logical civilization construction,accurately defining the practical subject of ecological politics,taking the con-struction of ecological civilization as the“greatest of the country”,scientifical plan of the strategic layout of ecological politics,collaborating on the construction of global ecological civilization,expanding the global per-spective of ecological politics.From the perspective of academic history,sorting out Xi Jinping Thought on Eco-Civilization’s original contributions to Marxist ecological politics will provide theoretical support for understanding and grasping the distinct political character of Xi Jinping Thought on Eco-Civilization,and pro-mote the research shift of ecological politics from the west to the east.
