In the era of antiretroviral therapy, the leading causes of morbidity and mortality among people living with HIV(PLWH)are opportunistic infections.Globally, approximately 6.2%of the surviving PLWH are co-infected with hepatitis C virus(HCV),and nearly all cases are co-infected with at least one type of human herpesvirus(HHV).The detection and treatment coverage worldwide are insufficient and are severely impacted by socioeconomic disparities, uneven distribution of medical resources, and policy constraints.Opportunistic infections in HIV have become one of the most pressing public health issues in the global AIDS field. This article reviews the current prevalence of HIV/HCV and HIV/HHVs co-infections and summarizes the corresponding prevention and control strategies, aiming to provide a reference for the prevention and control of opportunistic infections in HIV.
