The Routledge Introduction to Gender and Sexuality in Literature in Canada is a masterpiece published in 2023 on gender issues. It examines the performance of gender and sexuality across different genres in English-Canadian literature over the past few centuries.Based on the study of the structure, theme, and historical contexts of selected literary texts, this book provides a survey of some crucial political, cultural, and historical moments in Canada, and reflects how the representations about gender and sexuality have evolved over time. This book explores the multi-level and multi-dimensional representations of gender and sexuality, reflecting the interweaving of gender issues with imperial and national discourse,as well as the intersection of gender and sexuality with colonialism and racism. It is an important achievement in global gender studies in demonstrating the relevance of Canadian gender criticism to the international context and at the same time highlighting its regional and national characteristics.
