The tangled branch lotus pattern is a type of traditional Chinese decorative pattern, which is the most expressive and cultural representative plant pattern of the Ming Dynasty. This article elaborates on the basic elements of the Ming Dynasty's tangled lotus pattern, as well as the social ideals and aesthetic pursuits contained therein, through the concepts of signifier and signified in semiotics. Through this theory, we can gain a deeper understanding of the various cultural connotations and symbolic meanings contained in the entangled branches and lotus patterns of the Ming Dynasty, and provide a systematic interpretation of the types of ceramic decorative patterns.
