摘要
以广州华立学院2018级188名英语专业学生为受试对象,对学生进行思辨倾向测量以及思辨倾向与英语报刊阅读成绩相关性测量,结合师生访谈探索思辨倾向和学生英语报刊阅读水平的关系。统计数据显示,广州华立学院学生的整体思辨倾向得分偏低,思辨倾向小部分维度中出现消极倾向。测试表明,除分析性和认知成熟度与英语报刊阅读成绩存在着微弱的相关性以外,总体思辨能力与英语报刊阅读理解成绩之间没有统计学上的显著相关性。基于结果,探讨了通过培养师生元思辨能力、优化“英语报刊阅读”课程设置、改进课程教学设计、发挥师生主观能动性以提升学生思辨能力的价值与意义,以期为应用型本科高校英语专业学生的思辨能力培养提供具体的实践参考。
This study carried out survey in 188 English undergraduates in Guangzhou Huali College and correlation test with TEM8 reading material in combination with interviews to investigate correlation between English majors’critical thinking disposition and English Newspaper reading in application-oriented universities.The results reveal that the overall score is relatively low and some critical thinking dispositions of English majors are negative.There is no statistically significant correlation between critical thinking disposition and reading comprehension achievement in general.But their English reading proficiency is weakly correlated with cognitive maturity and analyticity in the critical thinking disposition.Based on the findings,this paper explores the way to effectively enhance students’critical thinking disposition by strengthening meta critical thinking,motivating teachers to improve the design of teaching task as well as the course setting and activating students autonomy in English Newspaper reading,thus providing implications for relevant studies in application-oriented universities.
