This article discusses how to integrate ideological and political education into classroom teaching in higher mathematics education,using the example of teaching and applying the concept of inflection points in curve analysis.Higher mathematics courses are crucial for cultivating students’scientific literacy and problem solving abilities,requiring a focus on the holistic development of students’qualities.The goal of ideological and political education is to cultivate students’moral and ethical qualities and their sense of social responsibility,and the combination of these two aspects has a positive impact on students’learning.By integrating the teaching of inflection points with ideological and political education,it is possible to enhance students’interest and motivation in learning,cultivate their innovative and practical abilities,and promote the development of interdisciplinary knowledge and comprehensive abilities.The article also provides specific teaching methods and suggestions regarding classroom introductions,teaching processes,and conclusions to assist teachers in effectively integrating ideological and political education into higher mathematics education.
