Forest Landscape Restoration(FLR)is one of the ecological restoration concepts widely concerned and practiced in the world.A number of studies show that the failure to follow the principles of forest landscape restoration often leads to major defects or failures of related restoration projects. The evaluation of the suitability, consistency and sustainability of FLR projects or activities in a scientific and reasonable way is of great theoretical and practical significance to improve restoration strategies and optimize restoration measures. The lack of unified evaluation criteria hinders the popularization and application of the FLR concept in China,so it is urgent to build a set of criteria for FLR evaluation based on China's national and forest conditions. This paper introduces the FLR concepts and restoration methods, summarizes the FLR research progress at home and abroad, and constructs China's FLR evaluation criteria for the first time under the guidance of the principles and methods of criteria setting and with an eye to the related research results at home and abroad. It is aimed at providing a set of national evaluation criteria framework for FLR practices in China, and providing provinces, regions and forest management units with decision-making supports to develop specific and suitable criteria system for FRL evaluation.
