This paper thoroughly investigates the application of BIM(Building Information Modeling)technology in geotechnical engineering survey.The article initially introduces the fundamental concepts of geotechnical engineering survey,including the purpose and importance of the survey,as well as the conventional survey methods.Subsequently,it focuses on analyzing the specific applications of BIM technology in geotechnical engineering,encompassing data collection and processing,and 3D modeling techniques.Notably,the paper delves into the application of 3D geological models in geotechnical engineering surveys,including the conceptualization and the detailed process of model establishment.Lastly,the article also highlights innovative applications of BIM technology in geotechnical engineering surveys,such as acquiring parameterized models,3D visualization applications,and simulation of excavation in pit earthworks.Based on the aforementioned analysis,the paper demonstrates the potential of BIM technology in enhancing the efficiency,accuracy,and cost-effectiveness of surveys,as well as its pivotal role in modern geotechnical engineering surveys.
