This article explores the pivotal role of synthetic biology in the transformation of the chemical industry.Driven by both policy support and technological innovation,synthetic biology offers extensive application prospects within the sector.By developing bio-based materials and green fuels,it effectively reduces energy consumption and environmental impact,fostering a green transition in the industry.The paper focuses on the applications of bio-based monomers,polymers,green methanol,and green ammonia in the chemical industry,and outlines strategies that traditional chemical companies should adopt,including raw material substitution,technological innovation,external collaboration,and talent development,to accelerate their transformation process.
