新疆吐鲁番市西旁唐宋时期景教寺院遗址

一、前言.西旁(Shüi-pang)景教寺院遗址位于新疆维吾尔自治区吐鲁番市高昌区葡萄沟街道达甫散盖社区北面的一座山岗上,在葡萄沟与桃儿沟之间、火焰山西端南麓,建于一座高约20米的山岗上(图一;图二)。遗址所处山岗呈不规则的圆形,顶部比较平坦,南面通过一条狭长的山梁可到达火焰山山脚。建筑遗存位于岗顶和岗坡,西坡较陡峭,北坡和东坡较平缓。山岗北面有树林和废弃的坎儿井,东面有废弃葡萄园和一处墓地,南面山梁上亦发现一处墓地。遗址周边分布多处佛寺遗址。

In 2023,the Xipang(Shüi-pang)site was excavated a second time.Various features such as houses,walls,platforms,passageways,midden pits,hearths,toilets,midden heaps,and hoards on the northern and western edges of the hilltop and the eastern and northern slopes.Additionally,one tomb was excavated on the southern ridge of the hill.These remains show signs of renovation and/or reconstruction.A large and diverse collection of artifacts were unearthed,including Buddhist and Taoist scriptures in Chinese,as well as numerous Christian documents written in Syriac,Old Uyghur,and other scripts.These materials hold significant research value across multiple fields,including archaeology,religious studies and linguistics.
