摘要
According to relevant literature and first-hand field records,Mongolians used different terms to name girls of different ages by their hairstyles.Specifically,girls were called"Orboot","Tevegt","Gejigt","Shanhut"and"Bogdut".This paper mainly focuses on the question of what kind of hairstyle"Shanhut"refers to for girls,and how it is related to the shape of horse mane in order to analyze and explain the uniqueness of nomadic customs and ways of thinking.
