32-year-old Canadian physiologist Frederick Banting won Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1923 for his discovery of insulin.This paper reviews the research background and history of Banting,summarizes the process of insulin discovery and extraction and his diverse experience outside academia.Then it emphasizes the significance of obtaining inspiration and cooperation in scientific research,the importance of cooperation between enterprises and scientific research institutions for the transformation of research achievements and the continuous influence of past achievements on future scientific research activities.
