This paper describes the simulation analysis of the electric thermal field of intermediate joints in different types of medium voltage cables.It introduces the common types of joints in medium voltage cables,as well as the definition,principles,and steps of electric thermal field simulation analysis,and explores the characteristics of the internal electric field showing a stepped distribution and the thermal field showing a non-uniform distribution.
