索玛花也被称作杜鹃花、映山红,代表着迎客之花,是彝族人民的吉祥之花。彝族常以索玛花来形容姑娘的美丽,就连彝族传统选美,姑娘们也被称作“金索玛、银索玛、铜索玛”。这种花儿生长在海拔3800米以上的高原,矮小、根深、生命力极强,即使到了冬天花儿都没了,它紫红的枝干在太阳的照耀下依然会像炭火一样通红。成都铁路公安局西昌公安处索玛花女子乘警组成立于2022年12月26日,伴随着首趟开进大凉山动车的鸣笛声,这支由8名青年女警组成的乘警组,开启了守护成昆线千里铁道线上旅客安全的旅程。
