燕赵文化的理性精神之内核源自先秦的荀子学说,并得到后世燕赵思想家的认同、提倡和维卫。它涵盖了求实精神、力行精神、功利精神和包容精神等多元价值取向。求实精神主要体现在认识论方面,它是一种客观世界可知论的立场和实证的态度;力行精神主要体现在知行观上,它反对与现实无关、不能付诸实践的理论思维活动,坚持把“行”作为学习知识的根本途径和归宿;功利精神主要体现为学术价值取向,燕赵学人历来重视学术的社会功能,主张通经致用;面对不同思想学派和文化观念,燕赵思想家多秉持兼容并包、综合创新的学术立场,展现了燕赵文化的包容精神。

The rational spirit of Yanzhao culture refers to the theoretical pursuits and value concerns initiated by Xunzi and endorsed by Yanzhao thinkers.It includes the spirit of pragmatism,activism,utilitarianism and inclusiveness.The spirit of pragmatism is primarily reflected in the field of epistemology,where it represents an objectivist stance and an empirical attitude that the objective world is knowable.The spirit of activism is mainly manifested in the view of knowledge and action,opposing theoretical thinking activities that are irrelevant to reality and cannot be put into practice,insisting on taking“action”as the fundamental approach and destination for learning knowledge.The spirit of utilitarianism is mainly reflected in the academic value orientation.Yanzhao scholars have always emphasized the social function of academia,advocating the practical application of scholarly works.In the face of different schools of thought and cultural concepts,Yanzhao thinkers often uphold an academic position of inclusiveness and comprehensive innovation,demonstrating the inclusive spirit of Yanzhao culture.
