跨国技术信息流动与企业出口产品质量——来自外国在华专利申请的经验证据

Cross-border Technical Information Flow and Export Product Quality of Enterprise:Empirical Evidence from Foreign Patent Application in China

出口产品质量提升既是经济高质量发展的内在动力,也是企业增强国际竞争力的重要突破口。以外国在华专利申请为表征的跨国技术信息流动如何影响中国企业出口产品质量,是研究以“引进来”促进“走出去”的一种崭新形式。基于中国微观数据研究发现,外国在华专利申请显著地促进了中国企业出口产品质量的提升,经过一系列稳健性检验后结论依然成立。机制分析显示,本土企业创新能力提升和出口产品结构优化是促进产品质量提升的重要途径。异质性分析表明,在技术信息含量方面,外国发明专利授权对中国企业出口产品质量提升作用更强。此外,外国在华专利申请的质量提升作用在国有企业与一般贸易企业中更为突出。上述结论对中国企业更好地利用外国技术资源、提升出口国际竞争力具有一定启示意义。

The quality improvement of export product is the internal driving force of high-quality economic development,as well as the important breakthrough for enterprise to enhance international competition.The impact of cross-border technical information,characterized by foreign patent application in China,on the quality of export product in Chinese enterprises is a new form to study the promotion of“bringing in”on“going out”.Study on China s micro-data shows that foreign patent application in China significantly promotes the improvement of export product quality of Chinese enterprises,and the conclusion still holds after a series of robustness tests.Mechanism analysis showsthat innovation ability improvement of local enterprises and product structure optimization are important ways to promote product quality improvement.Heterogeneity analysis indicates thatin terms of technical information content,foreign invention patent authorization has stronger influence on the quality improvement of export product of Chineseenterprises.What s more,the quality improvement role of foreign patent application in China is more prominent in state-owned enterprises and general trade enterprises.The above conclusions provide certain enlightenments for China to make better use of foreign technical resources and improve the international competitiveness of export.
