摘要
介绍了一种工作频率范围在200~220 GHz,输出功率为7 kW的回旋管行波放大器。70 keV、1.5 A、大回旋电子束的回旋模式的三次谐波与五折螺纹波导互作用区域中传播的类TE 31模式发生共振相互作用,实现宽带放大。大回旋电子束由一个磁会切(CUSP)电子枪所产生,所设计的类TE 31模式具有理想的色散特性,其色散特性通过理论预测,计算机模拟和实验相结合来设计优化。三维粒子仿真(CST PIC)模拟得到了输出功率和增益分别为约7 kW和51.5 dB,输入信号功率为50 mW,3 dB瞬时增益带宽约为20 GHz。
A gyrotron traveling wave amplifier with an operating frequency range of 200-220 GHz and an output power of 7kW is introduced.The third harmonic cyclotron mode of a 70 keV,1.5 A,large-orbit electron beam resonates with the TE31-like mode propagating in the five-fold helically corrugated interaction region,achieving broadband amplification.The large-orbit beam is generated by a CUSP electron gun.The TE31-like waveguide mode exhibits ideal dispersion characteristics.The dispersion characteristics are optimized through theoretical calculations and numerical simulations.The three-dimensional particle-in-cell(CST PIC)simulation predicts a saturated output power of 7 kW and a gain of 51.5 dB.When the input signal power is 50mW,the 3 dB Instantaneous gain bandwidth is about 20 GHz.
