集成芯片硅微条探测器电子读出系统设计

摘要 设计了基于VATA460.3专用集成芯片(ASIC)的多通道、低功耗带触发硅微条探测器读出系统,该系统实现了共32路粒子入射信息读出。测试结果表明:该系统各通道基线稳定,等效噪声水平均低于0.17 fC,动态范围可达90 fC。 Silicon microstrip detectors have been widely used in high-energy physics experiments.The MeV gamma Ray Observatory,a next-generation large-scale space program proposed by the Institute of High Energy Physics,also employs silicon microstrip detectors for the gamma-ray detection.A multi-channel silicon microstrip detector readout prototype based on VATA460.3 application specific integrated circuit(ASIC)is designed and developed.The preliminary test results are present.The prototype mainly consists of two parts,namely,the front-end collect module(FCM)and the rear-end readout module(RRM).The FCM contains a silicon microstrip detector and an ASIC,which is used for front-end analog signal conditioning and analog-to-digital conversion for collection.The RRM consists of The RRM consists of a Field-Programmable Gate Array(FPGA),an interface to interact with the PC;the ASIC can be configured to work in a controlled manner and read the information processed after digital sampling for reporting to the PC.The test results of the prototype show that the pedestal of each channel is stable,the equivalent noise(RMS)is lower than 0.17 fC,and the linear dynamic range can reach 90 fC,which fulfill the specification requirements for detector.This paper describes the design and development of a silicon microstrip detector readout system based on VATA460.3,and the performance of the system is present.The system is characterized by highly integration,low noise,low power consumption.
