The ecological value of wetlands has been known to us for less than a century, and conscious writing on wetlands is still just beginning in China.Screaming River is the collection of short stories written by contemporary writer Bei Qiao, which focuses on the Yellow(Bohai)Sea migratory bird habitat,China’s only coastal wetland world natural heritage.Through the“heterogeneous isomorphism”of different themes such as children, rivers, animals, women, and life consciousness,it reflects the complex symbiotic relationship between human and nature in the hometown of“Zhujiawan”.The writer employs“enchanting”images, such as“screaming river”and“reeds”to depict the landscape, with deep contemplation on the philosophical implications of“harmonious coexistence”between human and nature.Bei Qiao focuses on the novel of wetland hometown, providing an example for the poetic writing of wetlands.
