Predicting the activity of single atom catalysts

For a long time,the existence of single-atom catalysts(SACs),consisting of isolated atoms stabilized in a specific support,was not detected due to limitations in available characterization techniques.Over the past two decades,however,the ability to synthesize and characterize these systems has opened the way toward designing and testing a new class of potential catalysts[1].
