As more and more colleges and universities offer supply chain management majors,the theoretical construction of the supply chain management discipline has become a hot topic in the supply chain management academic and educational circles.This article attempts to use historical analysis to explain the development and positioning of the three major American international associations,the Association for Supply Chain Management,the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals,and the Institute for Supply Management,analyze the formation and development of the supply chain management discipline,and look forward to the future of the supply chain management discipline,in order to provide reference for the theoretical construction of the China s supply chain management discipline.
