This article aims to explore the stylistic features and design philosophy of traditional Dong ethnic clothing.It provides a comparative analysis of four styles of Dong traditional garmentslarge collar,off-center collar,symmetrical collar,and incomplete collar and their distinctive characteristics across various historical periods.Further,from the perspective of design philosophy,the article reveals the functionality and scientific principles inherent in Dong traditional clothing,emphasizing the Dong people's design ethos of"valuing materials as precious"and"adapting to circumstances."Through a profound interpretation of Dong traditional attire,this study offers new perspectives and approaches for researching,preserving,and inheriting Dong ethnic clothing traditions.
