也说“立此为照者”

A re-examination of li ci wei zhao zhe(立此为照者)

黑维强、杨青青(2023)指出元代契约文书“立此为照者”之类的固定格式受蒙古语影响,“者”由表示祈使语气类推扩展出表达陈述语气的用法。“者”的来源及用法尚有待进一步探讨。本文认为“者”来源于蒙古语陈述句末指代强调助词je,文献中音译为“者”,意译作“那般者”。

Based on Hei and Yang(2023)'s study on the set phrase li ci uei zhao zhe(立此为照者)in contract documents of the Yuan Dynasty,the paper proposes that zhe(者)in this phrase differs from the zhe in Chinese and it is not a translation of the imperative affix in Mongolian.Instead,zhe is originated from the sentence-final demonstrative particle je which is used for emphasis in Mongolian.Zhe is a transliteration of je which can also be translated as na ban zhe(那般者,"that's it").The argument that zhe comes from the imperatives used as declaratives in Mongolian needs further discussion.
