银行业竞争对居民消费水平的影响——基于CFPS数据的实证分析

摘要 通过构建银行业竞争指标并基于2016—2020年CFPS数据,实证检验中国银行业竞争对居民消费行为的影响。研究发现:银行业竞争能够显著提升居民家庭的消费水平;银行业竞争通过提高居民的金融投资收益和金融素养,进而提升其家庭消费水平;银行业竞争对居民消费水平的作用存在区域异质性、收入阶层异质性和户主年龄阶段异质性,总体上看对中西部地区的居民家庭影响更大,且影响程度随着收入水平的降低和户主年龄的提高而加剧。 This paper constructed indicators of banking competition,and empirically tested the influence of banking competition on household consumption behaviour in China based on the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)data from 2016 to 2020.The study found that:banking competition could lead to the profound advancement of household consumption level.In addition,banking competition promoted household consumption level by enhancing households'financial investment returns and financial literacy.The effects of banking competition exhibited heterogeneity across regions,income strata,and household head age groups.Overall,the impact was more pronounced for households in the central and western regions,and the degree of influence intensified as income levels decreased and the age of the household head increased.
