The Current Situation and Problems of American Studies in China

在国内学者的努力耕耘下,中国的美国研究取得了丰硕的研究成果:美国研究机构的数量持续增加,研究人员规模不断扩大,研究议题领域得到较大拓展。然而,相比于冷战时期的苏联和当前的日本,中国的美国研究仍存在研究队伍规模小、机构分散、研究议题不够全面、研究不够深入、研究手段和方法存在局限等问题。在当今世界百年变局加速演变、中美关系处于重要关口的背景下,这些问题制约了美国研究的发展,需要引起重视。

American studies in China have experienced remarkable growth in recent years,driven by the dedication of Chinese scholars.This progress is evident in the increasing number of research institutions,the expanding community of researchers,and the diversification of research topics.However,compared to the robust American studies programs in the Soviet Union during the Cold War and contemporary Japan,China's field faces several challenges.These include:limited research teams,decentralized institutions,insufficiently comprehensive research topics,inadequate research depth,and limitations in research methods.These challenges,coupled with the rapidly changing global landscape and the crucial developments in China-US relations,impede the further progress of American studies in China.Addressing these issues is crucial to ensure the continued development and impact of the field.
