Country and Area Studies in the Context of Developing New University Think Tanks

在我国高校和研究机构大力开展区域国别学学术体系、学科体系、话语体系建设的背景下,如何统筹高校智库建设与区域国别学的学科发展成为亟需回答的问题。本文从我国高校区域国别研究智库建设的历史和现状入手,分析其在实体化建设、科研能力发展等方面面临的问题与挑战以及外语院校存在的短板。文章进而提出,需要在探索中国特色区域国别学学科建设范式的过程中,解决好高校区域国别研究类智库人才产出这一核心问题,双向推进学科与智库可持续发展;加强智库和媒体的交流合作,协同创新,为构建人类命运共同体注入新的内涵和活力。

The development of academic,disciplinary,and discourse systems for country and area studies in Chinese universities and research institutions necessitates a critical examination of how to align the construction of university think tanks with the advancement of the field.This paper investigates the historical context and current state of country and area studies in Chinese universities,analyzing challenges related to institutionalization,research capacity building,and the specific limitations encountered by foreign studies institutions.A key argument is that developing a paradigm for country and area studies with Chinese characteristics requires addressing the insufficient talent output of university think tanks.This is crucial for promoting sustainable development in both the field and related think tanks.Finally,the paper advocates for strengthened think tank engagement with media outlets to foster innovation and revitalize the vision of building a global community with a shared future.
