Based on his comprehension of the laws of nature and ecology and rational analysis of China's ecological conditions,General Secretary Xi Jinping creatively put forward the important proposition of“maintaining the natural ecological security boundaries”,which provides important ideological and practical guidance for the socialist eco-civilization progress. From a Marxist ecological perspective, these boundaries signify not only the objective laws and finite capacity of nature but also the socio-historical outcomes of human-nature interaction. The fundamental reason for the destruction of the natural ecological security boundaries is the logic of capital-driven unlimited economic growth. Therefore, maintaining the natural ecological security boundaries not only requires establishing the basic principles of respecting and protecting nature, but also calls for the promotion of the green transformation of social production and lifestyles, striving to achieve a historic replacement for capitalist economic relations and civilization paradigms. The advancement of eco-civilization in contemporary China demands not only a comprehensive approach to addressing current environmental issues but also a commitment to integrating ecological sustainability, modernization, and socialist governance institutionally, which paves the way for a new human civilization wherein man lives in harmony with nature, and thus provides tangible support and motivational conditions for maintaining natural ecological security boundaries.
