作为古典实用主义的集大成者,杜威的哲学涵盖了古今哲学研究中的诸多重要问题,其美学理论包含了对自然主义“经验论”、逻辑探究理论与工具论等方面的思考,并在艺术批评理论方面具有独特的教育哲学色彩。杜威反对将审美的内在价值与工具价值相分离,强调审美活动可以激发行动者的潜能,帮助行动者对整体性经验进行把握,他将艺术批评视为一种培养人的探究能力的审美教育。基于此,杜威的美学理论展现了一种非本质主义形而上追求的可能。
As the epitome of classical pragmatism,Dewey’s philosophy covers many important issues in ancient and modern philosophy research.His aesthetic theory embodies the thinking of naturalistic“empiricism”,logical inquiry theory and instrumental theory,and has a unique educational philosophy in the theory of art criticism.Dewey opposed the separation of the intrinsic value of aesthetics from the instrumental value,emphasizing that aesthetic activities can stimulate the potential of the actor and help the actor grasp the overall experience,and regarded art criticism as an aesthetic education that cultivates people’s ability to explore.Based on this,Dewey’s aesthetic theory presents the possibility of a non-essential metaphysical pursuit.
