The main problems existing in the administering and use of foods high in melatonin are summarized and analyzed.The main problems in the administering are:exaggerated publicity,illegal addition,excessive dosage and unqualified products.The main problems in the uses of products by consumers are:a substitute for drugs,illegal use,mismatch,indiscriminate use and wrong cognition.From the perspective of supervision,suggestions are put forward to strictly review the publicity of product functions and advertising,control the quality,and monitoring adverse reaction of food supplements after melatonin rich foods appearing in the market.From the perspective of health education of consumers,suggestions are put forward to formulate the corresponding guidelines for appropriate use of melatonin products,promote sleep and health education and attach importance to health education of food supplements,in order to promote the healthy development of industry related to melatonin products.
