摘要
陈淳的《北溪字义》在江户时代初期便传入日本,各版本广泛传播,受到日本众多儒者的关注。本文以江户时代著名儒者林罗山、新井白石和伊藤仁斋对《北溪字义》接受和讨论为例,从传播、理解、演变的三个维度系统性考察《北溪字义》在江户日本的具体面貌和演变轨迹。本文指出,儒学在日本传播必然要经历模仿、吸收、改变,甚至是批判的过程。儒学在日本的发展历程体现出它的灵活性、流动性和可塑性。
In the early Edo period,Chen Chun’s Beixi Meaning of Characters was introduced into Japan,and various versions were widely disseminated,attracting the attention of many Japanese Confucians.This paper takes the acceptance and discussion of Beixi Meaning of Characters by the famous Edo period Confucian scholars Hayashi Razan,Arai Hakuseki,and ItōJinsai as examples and systematically examines the specific appearance and evolution of Beixi Meaning of Characters in Edo Japan from the three dimensions of dissemination,understanding,and evolution.The author points out that the spread of Confucianism in Japan inevitably went through the process of imitation,absorption,change and even criticism.The development of Confucianism in Japan shows its flexibility,fluidity,and plasticity in its adaptation to the local customs of Japan.
