抗日战争时期,3000多名南洋华侨青年为了挽救民族危亡,报名参加“南洋华侨机工回国服务团”,告别父母亲人回国参战,在滇缅公路上从事物资运输工作。面对险路急弯、疾病流行、敌机轰炸的生死考验,他们毫不畏惧,付出巨大牺牲,抢运了大量军需物资,保障了中国抗战生命线的畅通。南侨机工舍身报国的赤子情怀,已经成为中华民族爱国主义的杰出代表,受到后人深深敬仰。在新的历史时期,继承和弘扬南侨机工的爱国主义精神,构建团结全体中华儿女的精神纽带,将为实现中华民族伟大复兴提供强大的精神动力。

During the War of Resistance Against Japan,more than 3,000 overseas Chinese from Southeast Asia participated in the“Nanyang Overseas Chinese Mechanic Corps”in order to save their motherland from Japanese invasion.They returned to China to participate in the war,engaging in material transportation work on the Yunnan Myanmar Highway.Nanqiao mechanics transported a large amount of military supplies and ensured the smooth flow of China s lifeline during the war.The patriotic sentiments of Nanqiao mechanics have become outstanding representatives of patriotism.In the new historical period,inheriting and promoting the patriotic spirit of the Nanqiao mechanics will build a spiritual bond that unites all Chinese people,and provide strong spiritual impetus for achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
