This article introduces that under the overall contracting model of refractory materials,steel enterprises should not only focus on the cost of refractory materials per ton of steel,but also pay more attention to the consumption index of refractory materials per ton of steel.Reducing the consumption of refractory materials per ton of steel can not only improve the life of the furnace and ladle,reduce the cost of refractory materials per ton of steel,but also ensure that the refractory material products do not contaminate the molten steel,improve the purity of the molten steel,and achieve a win-win situation for both the refractory material enterprise and the steel enterprise.Taking the AOD furnace and ladle with a large proportion of refractory material consumption in stainless steel smelting as examples,the smelting environment of AOD furnace and ladle for stainless steel smelting is analyzed,and the methods to reduce the unit consumption of refractory materials are introduced and discussed.By adopting high-quality refractory material raw materials to improve the material quality,strengthening masonry management,optimizing production rhythm,adopting online hot spraying technology,improving the life of permeable bricks,etc.,the unit consumption and cost of refractory materials for stainless steel smelting will be minimized.
