A Study on Trade Costs and Influencing Factors Among RCEP Member Countries

RCEP的成立对于区域内国家和全球贸易都有重要意义和影响,贸易成本是影响RCEP国家贸易发展的关键因素。选取RCEP国家作为研究对象,采用2010—2021年间来自RCEP国家统计局和联合国贸易数据库的实证数据,构建了固定效应回归模型,深入研究了贸易成本的影响因素,并进行了稳健性检验。研究结果表明,2010—2021年间RCEP成员国之间的贸易成本整体看来呈现下降趋势,贸易距离、经济水平差异、贸易开放度、是否有共同语言等因素对贸易成本具有显著的影响。因此,推进区域一体化进程、加强经济发展和贸易开放度、加强合作与沟通、优化边境贸易环境等降低贸易成本的措施具有重要参考价值。

The establishment of RCEP is significant for both regional countries and global trade.Trade costs are a key factor affecting the trade development of RCEP countries.This thesis selects RCEP countries as the research object considering.This thesis empirical data from the statistical bureaus of RCEP countries and the United Nations trade database from 2010 to 2021.It constructs a fixed-effects regression model to deeply study the influencing factors of trade costs and conducts robustness tests.The results show that overall trade costs between RCEP member countries showed a downward trend from 2010 to 2021.Factors such as economic trade distance level differences,trade openness and whether,there is a common language have significant effects on trade costs.Therefore measures to reduce trade costs such as promoting regional integration,strengthening economic development and trade openness,enhancing cooperation and communication and optimizing border trade environments are of significant reference value.
