Compared with Mark Twain's local writing,Kate Chopin's local writing also has its value and characteristics, and even has a broader space for expansion. This article firstly provides a brief overview of Chopin's Louisiana regional writing, which has gained academic attention.Secondly,it explains that in her Louisiana stories, she challenges the racial division system, exposes the harm that the Civil War brought to the South, and expresses hope for young people. Finally,it considers that Chopin's St.Louis writings are also worth exploring. In these stories, she exposes the drawbacks of the huge wealth gap caused by the disorderly development of capitalism, jumps out of her class position, sympathizes with the lower class, and mocks capitalists. In short,Kate Chopin's local stories, though happening over a hundred years ago, still have global implications today.
