David Diop is a biracial writer of Senegalese and French descent. His three novels to date focus on the historical interactions and cultural relations between France and Senegal. The Martiniquais thinkerdouard Glissant referred to“mondialité”as a state of multicultural coexistence and mutual respect,a stance against the assimilating forces of globalization.By writing about the identity crises of characters who cross boundaries and the common fate of humanity in the torrent of the times,Diop constructs dialogues between individuals and nations, attempting to mediate cultural contradictions and restore the distorted“mondialité”.This article examines the spaces, history, and intertextual relationships in Diop's works, revealing his path of“mondialité”writing and its cross-cultural significance.
