Research on the Origin and the Meaning of the Word"Dianbu"

“典”字最早出现于殷商时期,“簿”出现于战国时期。“典簿”一词是由“典”和“簿”两个单音词素组成的联合式复合词,目前所知最早出现于南北朝时期的《周氏冥通记》中。“典簿”是我国古代典型的综合性文档、文献类名词之一,其本义为典籍文册、朝廷文书。隋唐以后,“典簿”主要作为官职名称使用。其使用频率从隋唐开始到元代呈缓慢上升趋势,直至明清出现高峰期,民国前期过渡,民国中后期衰落,后因时代的发展变迁仅作为历史词汇使用。

The word"Dian"first appeared in the Yin and Shang dynasties,and"Bu"in the Warring States period.The word"DianBu"is a united compound word composed of two monosyllabic morphemes,"Dian"and"Bu",the earliest known to have appeared in the North and South Dynasties period in the Zhou's Medi-tation Records."DianBu"is one of the typical comprehensive documents and literature nouns in ancient Chi-na,and its original meaning is canonical books and court documents.After the Sui and Tang dynasties,"Di-anBu"was mainly used as the name of an official position.The frequency of its use from the Sui and Tang dynasties to the Yuan dynasty was a slowly rising trend,until the peak of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the Republic of China transition,the Republic of China declined in the middle and late,and then it is used as a historical noun only due to the development of the times.
